X-Ray Science Division (XSD) Visitor Program

The XSD Visitor Program hosts expert scientists at the Advanced Photon Source (APS) for short stays of 2-3 months. The goal of the program is to establish long-term scientific collaborations and/or begin to lay foundations for new scientific initiatives.

Interested candidates should submit:

  • A 1 page proposal detailing the work that would be accomplished during the visit
  • An endorsement letter from the XSD staff that will be hosting the visit
  • A proposed budget for the stay
  • Updated Curriculum Vitae
Proposals should be submitted to Jude Kitching <kitching@aps.anl.gov> in the XSD division office by February 27, 2017. Proposals will be judged by XSD management on the basis of scientific merit and contributions to the mission of the APS, with a decision on accepted proposals anticipated by March 17, 2017. Priority will be given to proposals establishing strategic thrusts that will directly benefit the proposed APS upgrade.
